and their structure and luminescence propertieswere characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis and fluorescence spectrometry.The results showed thata single hexagonal BaAl
12
O
19
crystal structurewas synthesized and the emission spectrum of BaAl
12
O
19
:Eu exhibited a broad asymmetric band
which was composed of three emission peaks at 438
462
511 nm
respectively.The position and intensity of emission band were affected by crystallization temperature
Eu
2+
concentration and Al
3+
content. With crystallization temperature increasing
the emission intensity of 438 nm significantly increaseed
but the emission intensity of 511 nm decreaseed.With Eu
2+
concentration increasing
the emission peak shifted to longerwavelength.The optimum concentration of Eu
2+
was 10%.The emission intensity increased effectively in blue light region and decreased in green light region by Al
