Color conversion display technology utilizes the photoluminescent properties of light emitting materials to convert high-energy blue excitation light into red and green light through the color conversion layer, so as to obtain the full-color display effect. Metal halide perovskites have emerged as light emitting materials which exhibit outstanding optoelectronic properties of near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield, high color purity, and low manufacturing cost, making them as a key light emitting materials for ultra-high-definition displays. Currently, green perovskite light emitting materials have made progresses in their high quantum yield, full width at half maximum, and stability, and already been commercialized. However, the development of red perovskite light emitting materials still suffers scientific and technological problems that need to be resolved. In view of this, this article systematically summarizes the research progress of different types of red perovskite light emitting materials in recent years in terms of their optoelectronic properties, stability and patterning methods from the realization of different red perovskite materials, and looks forward to and discusses the key technical difficulties that need to be solved for the industrialization of red perovskite. It is hoped that this review can provide a good reference for researchers to develop and industrialize red perovskite light emitting materials for color conversion displays.
