Formation and Control of Airy Soliton in Kerr Media
The propagation of Airy beams in self-focusing Kerr nonlinear media was investigated numerically by using split-step Fourier method. It is shown that spatial soliton with periodic oscillation can be formed out of the centered energy about the Airy main lobe during the propagation on the influence of stronger nonlinearity. With the increasing of the nonlinearity
the periodic and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the soliton are decreased. The propagation trajectory of the shedding soliton is changed when the initial launch angle of Airy beam is adjusted. Different from Airy beams
the propagation of the Airy soliton is always maintaining straight line.
