10-phenanthroline was synthesized. The properties of this complex were characterized by IR
UV-Visible spectrometry
elemental analysis and TG-DSC.The photoluminescence of complex indicated that there is a sharp and strong red emission peak at 612 nm attributed to

transition of Eu
3+
ion. The results showed that this Eu
3+
-bis(-diketone) complex would be a potential excellent red emission material.
