The microcavity OLED with a 100 nm-thick highly reflective Al top cathode and a 22 nm-thick semitrans parent Ag bottom anode on a glass substrate was fabricated. With MoO
3
and LiF as efficient hole and electron injection layers
respectively
the microcavity OLED show a turn on voltage of 2.5 V and a high luminance above 15000 cd/m
2
at 10 V
with a maximum efficiency of around 6 cd/A
which is 2 times that of the conventional OLEDs. The optical characteristics of the microcavity
