The organic electroluminescent(EL) devices were fabricated using a naphthalimide derivative
N-propyl-4 acetylamino-1
8-naphthalimide(PAAN)
as the active layer
poly(N-vinylcarbazole)(PVK) or N
N-diphenyl-N
N-bis(3-methyl-phenyl)-(1
1-biphenyl)-4
4-diamine (TPD) as the hole transport layer
and ITO and Al as the anode and cathode
respectively. New emission peak in the EL spectra of both devices shows up due to the exciplex formation at the bilayer interface. A white electroluminescence was got using a simple double structure. The results indicated that exciplex provides an efficient approach for getting the multicolor light devices.
