Synthesis and Photoluminescence Properties of A Novel Green-emitting Phosphor(Ce0.67Tb0.33)MgAl11O19∶Mn2+
have been prepared at 1 300℃ by solid-state reaction method. The crystal structure and photoluminescence properties were characterized by XRD and fluorescence spectra
respectively. The results show that (Ce

(CMAT). The excitation spectrum consists of a broad band range from 237 to 326 nm centered at 291 nm
which can be attributed to the characteristic excitation peaks of Ce
3+
. While excited under ultraviolet light
the phosphors exhibit not only the characteristic emission peaks of Tb

at 490

590 and 620 nm
but also a new broad emission band around 516 nm
which is assigned to the

and the integral area is about 226% of CMAT as

and the CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates of Mn

doped phosphors (0.194
0.695) are closer to the NTSC standard values (0.21

0.572). The results indicate that this new phosphor has a higher luminous efficiency in green area and color purity than that of CMAT
and it has a promising application in display fields.
