molecular sieve by physics vapour transport for the first time. The PL spectra were measured at 77 K. The position the width and-the intensity of the emission band changed with increasing the growth time. These phenomena showed the formation process of CdS nanocrystal in SiO
2
molecular sieve. The emission band narrowing and confinement effect were observed.
