Upconverslon luminescence in the near UV region has been obtained in Nd
3+
and Er
3+
doped fluorlde glassespumped by an Argon ion laser.Exciting intensity and dopant concentration effects on upconverslon fluorescence are measured.The upconverslon transition processes are also elucidated
and a comparison between theory and experi-mental results is made.
